7th Grade Geography students took part in a debate on the state of the Great Lakes.  Students read about 3 problems that faced the Great Lakes in 1969 (Invasive Species, Pollution, and Habitat Loss).  By using articles, charts and graphs, pictures, and their books, students collected information on the current state of the Great Lakes.  The project culminated with a debate between those who believe the the Great Lakes have recovered since 1969 and those who believe the Greak Lakes still have a long way to go.  During the debate, the two sides were required to cite specific facts, information, and use chapter vocabulary to back up their point.  Great job 7th graders!
