During the 2009 Alburnett Dance-A-Thon the Alburnett Students raised $10,600 for Children's Miracle Network. Last week during a KHAK radio promotion Jodi Ries presented our check to the CMN Director. They were amazed and delighted at how successful our students had been. There is a Unit in the Hospital called the Child Life Unit. It is a room that children who have to be hospitalized can go to and play board games, draw, read, etc. If a child is not able to leave their room, everything can be taken to them. They have books, games, videos, Nintendo games, and a whole lot more for the children to choose from. It takes around $10,000 a year to supply everything for this room. Our students, with their $10,600 donation, would be able to fund the room for a little over a year. Our students are fantastic! Our community is awesome!

Thank you to everyone for your continued support.  Thanks and watch for details about our 5th Dance-A-Thon in February 2010!  So far we have had four Dance-A-Thons and raised the following amounts:

2008-9  $10,600
2007-8  $13,400
2006-7  $10,800
2005-6  $ 7,600

This is quite impressive. If you have any ideas, would like to help, and/or make a contribution please contact Lauralea Wander. With your help we will be able to continue to make a difference in the lives of children who have to spend time in the hospital.
